At Irvine Brake Center, we do a full service brake inspection to find out what the real cause of your brake issue is and recommend the proper parts and service needed to get your car in top shape and running properly so you can get back to driving your car safely and with peace of mind that your brakes have been serviced standardly.
How do you know if you need a brake inspection? Here are some warning signs…
Brake Warnings
You need brake repair when:
1. Brake dashboard light comes on, means there is a problem with the anti-lock brake system (ABS)
2. Brake pedal is spongy or slow
3. Hearing a grinding or constant squealing during braking
Brake Noise Causes
Brake noises and squeals are caused by the brake pads vibrating, spring clips losing tension or poor brake pad fit on the caliper. If you hear a grinding noise when you brake, you’re likely hearing the metal backing of your brake pad contacting your rotor because the brake pad material has completely worn away.
Brake Wear Issues
Time, mileage and the operating environment are all factors that affect the service life of parts in the brake system. Brake fluid absorbs moisture over time. As moisture accumulates in the fluid, it increases the risk of internal corrosion inside the calipers, wheel cylinders, steel brake lines, master cylinder and ABS solenoid valves.
