Brake Replacement Process
Here are the procedures for changing the brake pads. Understanding the process will help you communicate with your mechanic if the time comes, even if you have no interest in performing the work yourself.
- Take the wheel off
- Take out the bolt holding the slider.
- Rotate the caliper clockwise
- Slide-out the old brake pads
- Replace the retainer clips
- Install the new brake pads
- Pull the pistons back
- Check the brake fluid level
- Adjust the caliper
- Reinstall the slider bolt
- Repeat the process on the opposite side
- Perform a safe test drive
